First, The X Factor narrowed its field to 24 contestants.
Then the show assigned judges to the categories: L.A. Reid for the Over 25s, Simon for the groups, Britney Spears for the teens and Demi Lovato for the young adults.
And finally, the final six in each category competed with hopes of becoming one of the show’s 16 to make the live shows.
