Here’s more about Julia:
* Julia told The Voice the two things that bring her peace are horses and singing. When she was a child, her mom owned eight horse stalls and Julia spent most of her free time caring for the horses. She’s now training to be a show jumper.
* Julia is engaged to a man she met as a sophomore in high school. She became pregnant an 18, something they weren’t planning.
* They’re still together. In fact, Julia said that’s one reason she chose “Let’s Stay Together” as her blind audition song. “I wanted to spread that love and positivity.”
* And Julia is a student, having completed her associate’s degree, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in preclinical health science and eyeing a master’s degree as well.
* Between being a full-time student and full-time mother, Julia said she doesn’t have a lot of time for music. She’s done is mostly for fun, singing for family and friends and said The Voice stage was by far the largest she’s ever been on.
* Julia told Voice Views she’s been singing since she was a child. “I cannot describe the amount of peace singing gives me. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
* She was involved in choir in high school and traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii with the group to perform at the 75th Pearl Harbor memorial parade, which she calls “an unforgettable memory.”
* JuliA says her musical inspirations include Elton John, Cannons, Imagine Dragons, Alina Baraz and Dua Lipa.
* “I consider myself a ‘pop’ artist,” she told Voice Views. “However I have interest in alternative, house and R&B. As I develop as an artist, I plan on steering myself into a combination of the three genres with my own twist.”
* She says she auditioned for the show twice previously. “My fiance played an important role in inspiring me to keep trying. Looking back now, I am so glad I didn’t give up!”
* As for her blind audition experience, Julia said: “I have little to no experience performing and singing for a live crowd and to say the least, it was terrifying. But in the best way! I was so nervous walking onto the stage that it almost felt like an out of body experience.
* “When Gwen turned around, I felt such a sense of relief that I officially made it onto the show. Even if the other coaches turned, I still would’ve chosen Gwen. I trust Gwen’s judgment, and not to mention her victory on season 19 with her one- chair turn contestant.”
