New post-Voice music out includes singles from Tate Brusa, Tje Austin and Mike Schiavo.

Here’s more about each of those releases.

The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.

* Tate Brusa from Season 18 released an excellent single Friday called “That Wasn’t Us.” It’s about falling for a girl who’s pretty and popular, thinking it’s love, but coming to the conclusion that “it’s all just pretend.” Tate was just 16 when he auditioned for The Voice. He’s 18 now and also celebrating 1 million streams of his song “Now Me That You’re Thinking ‘Bout.” Writes Tate: “Small accomplishment, but has been one of my biggest goals since I started releasing music. 7 digits on one of my favorite songs.” Congrats!

* Tje Austin from Season 1 has collaborated with The Song House for an original called “T-Shirt,” as in “this t-shirt is all I have left of you.” Good to get new music from Tje, who underwent surgery to remove five tumors from his leg earlier this year. “T-Shirt” is his first single yet. Oh, and folks might remember that Tje released a song called “I Can’t Breathe” last summer. It’s up to more than 600,000 streams on Spotify alone.

* Mike Schiavo from Season 10 also released a single called “T-shirt” on Friday. What are the odds? He co-wrote his with Keith Allen Jr. Mattox from the perspective of someone who feels their lover is treating them like “the old t-shirt you can’t bring yourself to throw out.” He gets a great vocal assist from Maddie Baillio. It’s the first single of 2021 from Mike.
